COVID-19 Lockdown: Presidency Reveals Next Plan As Second Phase Expires

 

The Chairman of the Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, has revealed that Nigeria has reached the height of community infection of the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19).

Mustapha, who is the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, disclose that state governments, community and religious leaders will now be responsible for the next phase of the battle against COVID-19.
Speaking to State House correspondents after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday, Boss Mustapha stated that the decision was due to the community infection of the virus.
He said: “The ownership of the next stage will be the responsibility of the states because we have gone into community transmission.
“Where are the communities? The communities are in the states. So, the ownership of the next stage will be the responsibility of the states, the local government, the traditional institutions, the religious leaders at the different levels of our communities, because that is where the problem is.”
Naija News reports that the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed three hundred and seven (307) new cases of Coronavirus pandemic in Nigeria.
The overall cases of the dreadful COVID-19 disease in Nigeria when summed with the new update is totalled 10162.

Getting the general public informed of developments with the viral disease, the NCDC on its official website and on its microblogging site account confirmed that a total of 3007 patients have been discharged of the dreaded disease while 287 confirmed dead.

Pastor Adeboye Reacts To Death Of UNIBEN Student, Vera Omozua









Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has reacted to the gruesome murder of a lady identified as Vera Uwaila Omozuwa who was raped and killed while reading in a church.
Pastor Adeboye while reacting via a statement on his Twitter account on Sunday, condemned the killing of the female student.
He also expressed condolence to the family of the slain lady while promising to work with relevant authorities to bring the perpetrators to book.
